Planning PolicyPoileasaidh Dealbhachaidh

The vision that has been developed by HIE and the stakeholders for Inverness Campus is closely aligned with the aspirations and guidance set out in the Highland Council A96 Growth Corridor Development Framework 2007.

The application site is situated within the A96 Corridor. It is envisaged that the Corridor will accommodate population growth of 30,000 over the next 30 to 50 years. The Corridor is therefore identified as a strategic growth area in the National Planning Framework, the Highland Structure Plan and the Inverness Local Plan.

Within this policy context, The Highland Council prepared the A96 Growth Corridor Development Framework setting out a masterplan for the area. This Framework was formally adopted by the Council in September 2007 and as such provides the most pertinent and up to date planning policy for the area.

The Framework envisages a population growth of 7,250 in the East Inverness area, accommodated in nearly 3,500 new homes, with associated new business, employment and retail opportunities. Inverness Campus is identified as critical element of this part of the Framework and key to the successful development of the area. The Framework document explains that the Campus will help deliver sustainable growth for the Corridor and the wider region.

Tha an lèirsinn a leasaich HIE agus na compàirtichean airson Àrainn Inbhir Nis a’ ceangal gu dlùth ris an togradh agus an stiùireadh a th’ air a chur a-mach ann am  Frèam-obrach Leasachadh Fàs Slighe an A96 le Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd ann an 2007.

Tha làrach an tagraidh taobh a-staigh Slighe an A96. Thathar an dùil gun gabh an t-Slighe seo ri fàs sluaigh de 30,000 thar nan 30 no 50 bliadhna a tha romhainn. Mar sin, tha an t-Slighe comharraichte mar sgìre fàis ro-innleachdail ann am Frèam-obrach Dealbhachaidh Nàiseanta, Plana Structair na Gàidhealtachd agus Plana Ionadail Inbhir Nis.

Ann an co-theacsa a’ phoileasaidh seo, dh’ullaich Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd Frèam-obrach Leasachadh Fàs Slighe an A96 a’ sealltainn plana dhan sgìre. Chaidh gabhail ris an seo gu foirmeil leis a’ Chomhairle san t-Sultain 2007 agus, mar sin, tha e a’ toirt dhuinn a’ phoileasaidh dhealbhachaidh as ùire airson na sgìre.

Tha am Frèam-obrach a’ coimhead ri fàs sluaigh de 7,250 ann an sgìre Inbhir Nis an Ear ann an 3,500 de thaighean ùra, agus na lùib bidh cothroman gnìomhachais, fastaidh is reic às ùr. Tha Àrainn Inbhir Nis ga chomharrachadh mar phàirt riatanach dhen Fhrèam-obrach agus bunaiteach do leasachadh soirbheachail na sgìre. Tha am Frèam-obrach a’ mìneachadh gun cuidich an Àrainn le lìbhrigeadh fàs seasmhach na Slighe agus na sgìre mun cuairt.

“The Campus represents a substantial and significant investment in the future of the area and wider region. It will allow the achievement of learning, research and business innovation outcomes linked to existing medical and health research in Inverness. It is critical to the achievement of the A96 Growth Corridor Development Framework’s smart growth ambitions.” - The Highland Council A96 Growth Corridor Development Framework 2007 “Tha an Àrainn na thasgadh mòr san sgìre san àm ri teachd. Bidh ionnsachadh, rannsachadh is gnìomhachasan ùra a’ ceangal ris an rannsachadh slàinte is meadaigeach a tha mar-thà ann an Inbhir Nis. Tha e bunaiteach gu bhith a’ coileanadh rùintean Frèam-obrach Leasachadh Fàs Slighe an A96.” – Frèam-obrach Leasachadh Slighe an A96 le Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd 2007
